Happy Easter!

We know that Easter is going to look very different this year for all of us and we are going to miss serving your families Easter Brunch and/or dinner. But we do hope that you are all able to enjoy the holiday at home with your loved ones. We are anxiously awaiting the day (which is hopefully sooner rather than later) where we can be together again in the restaurant, trying new cocktails and enjoying new menu items.

I was extremely excited to host my first holiday here in North Carolina and have to admit, I’m disappointed and sad that I cannot cook Easter brunch with my husband and son for my parents and my nephew. However, since I already had the meal planned, I thought I would share it with you all here. It’s not the same thing, I know, but maybe it will inspire you to try one of the recipes at home!

Becky’s 2020 Easter Brunch:

Ham & Cheese Mini Quiche

Blueberry French Toast Casserole

Whipped Goat Cheese Bruschetta

Mini Lemon Flower Tarts

Roasted Baby Spring Vegetables

I know we are all likely changing our Easter plans. What do yours look like now? Have any recipe to share?

I was born a foodie. My dad is a chef, baker, and restaurant owner and my mom might as well be because she owns whatever kitchen she walks into. I grew up working in my family’s restaurant and bakery in Pawling, New York – McKinney and Doyle. I started behind the bakery counter at 12 years old after begging my parents to let me start working. At 16 I worked as a hostess. By 18 I was serving tables and training behind the bar where I then worked every other weekend throughout my college career. Even now, when I am visiting my family in New York, I help out where I’m needed. To make a long story short, the food and restaurant industry has been my life for as long as I can remember.

I wanted to create this blog for a few reasons. First and foremost, to share tips, tricks, and knowledge about the food and beverage industry in general but also to help people see a different side of the restaurant world. Every restaurant has a totally unique culture and world within it. I want to help open people’s eyes to more than how fast the service is or how easy or hard it is to secure a reservation.

So, thanks for stopping by! I welcome your ideas, input, and feedback and hope you enjoy!

Eat well & travel often,

Becky McKinney

Rebecca – I so miss having to order my Coconut Custard pie for Easter as I was able to get them for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and as I said they were the best ones I have ever eaten and my mom made the pies and I really think hers were amazing.
The bad thing last month I got my assortment of danish and cookies, and about 2 hours after I got home I go immensely sick and was not able to eat them, had to have people come in to clean and ended up giving all to the person who helped, boy I missed having them.
    Have a great Easter.
