Country Kitchen Brunch Pop Up

Rebecca McKinney

I was born a foodie. My dad is a chef, baker, and restaurant owner and my mom might as well be because she owns whatever kitchen she walks into. I grew up working in my family’s restaurant and bakery in Pawling, New York – McKinney and Doyle. I started behind the bakery counter at 12 years old after begging my parents to let me start working. At 16 I worked as a hostess. By 18 I was serving tables and training behind the bar where I then worked every other weekend throughout my college career. Even now, when I am visiting my family in New York, I help out where I’m needed. To make a long story short, the food and restaurant industry has been my life for as long as I can remember.

I wanted to create this blog for a few reasons. First and foremost, to share tips, tricks, and knowledge about the food and beverage industry in general but also to help people see a different side of the restaurant world. Every restaurant has a totally unique culture and world within it. I want to help open people’s eyes to more than how fast the service is or how easy or hard it is to secure a reservation.

So, thanks for stopping by! I welcome your ideas, input, and feedback and hope you enjoy!

Eat well & travel often,

Becky McKinney

It’s Tuesday, which means we are only 5 days away from our Country Kitchen Brunch Pop Up this Sunday, August 9, from 10-2!

We’ve been itching to get back to serving brunch to all of you and while we may not be back to our regular weekend energy, we’re all very excited about this pop up event. The menu is small but well thought out and weather permitting, we’ll be seating both inside & outside. While we will do our best to accommodate walk ins, I recommend reserving your table as this is the only way to guarantee the ability to dine with us.

If you brunched with us in the past, you probably remember that we used to limit reservations to parties of 5 or more. BUT because we are living in unique times and this is a unique event, reservations will be accepted and encouraged for parties of any size.

The menu is downsized a bit but will include some of our classics like the Smokehouse Omelet, Corn Beef Hash and Strawberry Cream Cheese Pancakes but you’ll also find some newbies like Avocado Toast and Lobster Chilaquiles.

You can check out the full menu and make your reservation online here: https://mckinneyanddoyle.square.site/

Last week, we hosted our first Tuesday pub night for the first time in months and man oh man, it felt good!

This week, we’re excited to offer some additional outdoor seating where you can enjoy some of your favorite comfort meals that are only available on our Tuesday night menu. I’m personally dreaming about our Ahi Tuna Burger and Buffalo Cauliflower, but you’ll also find much more of course, like our fried chicken wings, Thai Chicken Meatballs, Andrew’s Loaded Nachos, Chicken Parmesan, Steak Frites … the list goes on.

Andrew also started making white sangria again with dry Sicilian white wine, peach, elderflower, mango and passion fruit. His recipe is hard (nearly impossible in my opinion) to beat so definitely be sure to swing by and grab a glass or two.

Since we will be operating with capacity restrictions, we have opened the Bar Seats, High Tops, outdoor tables, and of course our Dining Rooms for reservations. Our new reservation system will allow you to book up to 30 minutes prior to the time you wish to stop by, so even if it may be a last minute decision you can still check in to make sure there is seat with your name on it.

All of our items will still be available for takeout through our online site, or by calling us directly.

Hope to see you tonight!
