I may not be a chef or a restaurant owner, but my father is, and growing up in M&D’s kitchen as well as working in the restaurant and bakery for a large portion of my life, I’ve heard a lot of the questions thrown his way. I love the curiosity surrounding chef life, especially when it comes to silly assumptions or … well let’s just dive into the post.
Happy New Year, friends! I hope you all had a beautiful holiday season. I know we did! We are so grateful for another wonderful year serving you all. It’s been an honor and a pleasure to say the least. I’m excited to share this fun post with you today reflecting over the most popular items from 2019.
I just wanted to take a moment and wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! This time of year is a time for reflection and extra gratitude, and while we at M&D are always extremely grateful for our guests, our staff and our readers alike, we feel it even more so as we wrap up 2019.

I HAVE to start this post with a confession. I know that these ((incredible cookies)) are called Russian Tea Cakes … but for one reason or another (I honestly don’t remember the reason), I grew up calling them reindeer turds. I DO remember asking friends if they’ve ever had “those deer turd cookies,” and I DO remember always getting crazy looks each time I asked the questions so I’m pretty confident it’s not a common thing. But … now ya know.
